- Fingerprinting and Background check:
- Students are responsible for all fees. This is to be done at the Augusta County Public Schools Personnel Office located inside the Government Center in Verona, VA. Call to make an appointment (540-245-5100) between 8:00 am -4:00 pm.
- Interview process:
- Pending a complete application and a HESI score greater than or equal to 70%, the applicant will receive an email invite for an interview.
Start preparing:
- Schedule a physical exam with a healthcare provider (Form due on the first day of class)*
- Schedule a dental exam with a dentist (Form due on the first day of class)*
- Proof of the following immunizations: (Due on the first day of class)
– Two MMR vaccinations OR positive titer
– Two Varicella vaccinations OR positive titer
– Three Hepatitis B vaccinations OR positive titer
– Tetanus within the last 10 years
– TB test: 2 -step Tuberculin skin test. The first TB skin test is performed and read 48-72 hours later. A second TB skin test should be done 1 to 3 weeks later, and then read 48-72 hours later.

Valley Career and Technical Center’s School of Practical Nursing program has created a culture that embraces the functions of mentoring, role modeling, and caring for each student holistically. Our program is Approved through the Virginia Board of Education and Virginia Board of Nursing but is not accredited by a nursing education accrediting body.
